There's a certain magic to a family session where every generation shows up ready to have fun, and that's exactly what we got with this crew at Lake Tahoe. With so many kids running around and grandparents, parents, and cousins all in the mix, keeping everyone looking at the camera at once felt like herding the world's happiest cats, and it was an absolute blast.

July in Tahoe usually means bright sun and clear skies, but this session had a moody, overcast sky instead. Honestly, it worked in our favor. The soft, diffused light with flattering tones across every single face, a huge win with a group this large.

What really made the day, though, was the energy. From piggyback rides to full-family group hugs, the laughter never let up. Kids darted in and out of frame, grandparents cracked jokes, and somewhere along the way everyone just relaxed into being themselves. That's when the best photos happen.

By the end of the session, we had a gallery full of genuine smiles, candid chaos, and quiet in between moments that tell the real story of this family. Cloudy skies and all, this is exactly the kind of session that reminds me why I love what I do.
